This boat is in the style of a Norwegian Pram. It has not been identified as having been built by a particular builder, or in a particular country. Age is also undetermined. It is 9 feet, 2 inches in length and is of copper riveted construction. It has Wilcox & Crittenden bronze oar locks and rigging, all in exceptional condition. It also includes Shaw and Tenney oars with leathers. The boat may have been “cold molded”, based on the fact that the exterior planking of the hull is at 45 degree angles to the interior planking of the hull.
This boat was just displayed at the Michigan Maritime Museum Boat Show in South Haven, MI and got a lot of admiration and attention, but no one could identify the origins of the boat. She remains a mystery!
