Reaching Out
Every sailor’s journey on the water begins with an invitation. Come hear stories of welcome at the North Shore TSCA’s monthly meeting.
For our April meeting, the North Shore TSCA welcomes storyteller, writer, and videographer Anne Bryant, who will share inspirational stories on the theme of democratizing boating.
You may recognize Anne from her time writing and editing at WoodenBoat Magazine, from her past visits with us as part of the Acorn to Arabella project, or from her many high quality boat-related podcasts and YouTube channels. She’s currently working with Lowell’s Boat Shop, opening a cidery, and who knows what else. She’s a force of nature.
One thing Anne feels passionate about is the idea of democratizing boating by making it accessible to people that may not have been welcomed in the past: people of all economic levels, ages, genders, races, etc. This is particularly pertinent to a group like the TSCA, because small boats could potentially be the easiest and most accessible way for everyone to be able to get out on the water, to experience boating, and to help develop the shared passion that could help boats and boating continue to be viable and grow for future generations.
We hope you’ll join us for some inspirational stories and an evening of fun.
