WHAT: North Shore Traditional Small Craft Association Meeting
WHEN: Wednesday, March 12 at 7:30pm
WHERE: Maritime Gloucester, 23 Harbor Loop, Gloucester
Please join us on Wednesday as we welcome artist, sculptor and craftsman Eric Sealine, who will share some of his exquisitely constructed traditional boat models and the stories that go with them. Eric brought one of his models to a meeting a few months ago, and I was so impressed with the detail of construction that I asked him on the spot if he had more that he’d be willing to share. Luckily for us, he does.
I love the opportunity to study an accurately built boat model. Where else can you so easily see the methods of construction for a wide variety of craft, in close detail – indeed sometimes even in the palm of your hand? There’s a lot to be learned, and a lot to be impressed by the craftsmen that build them.
I would also like to send an open invite to any model builders in our group, of which I know there are at least a few, to bring a model or two of your own to share with the group. I know there’s some great work being done and I think it would be fun to see what everyone is up to; it’s also an opportunity to share your models with the people who will appreciate them the most!
I hope to see everyone on Wednesday for another fun meeting!
