24th Annual Washington’s Birthday Regatta

February 21 - February 23

The Ralph Middleton Munroe Chapter of the Traditional Small Craft Association is hosting the 24th Annual Washington’s Birthday Regatta at The Barnacle Historic State Park in Coconut Grove, Florida—home of famous Sharpie sailboat designer, “Commodore” Ralph Middleton Munroe.

The Regatta will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 with a Chowder Party and Awards Ceremony that evening. The Regatta weekend includes a concert Friday evening on the lawn and an optional “Fun Sail” on Sunday, reenacting Commodore Munroe’s “mail run” to pick up the mail from passing schooners and steamships.

Since this is a reenactment of the first Regatta organized on Biscayne Bay in the winter of 1887, small sailing craft of “traditional” rig are encouraged to participate!
