Completed Solo Guideboats

Bill Armitage recently finished his solo guideboats project. The boats were constructed from a design by John Gardiner. At 42 lbs. the craft is both light and fast. Designed for the single rower, it is easily transported on an automobile roof and carried to the water’s edge. The vessel is constructed of 5mm Okoume Mahogany Marine Plywood - BS 1088 using stitch and tape construction. Rails and breasthooks are of Port Orford Cedar.
