John Gardner Chapter: Scuttlebutt - September 2008
Hello everyone,
The Lighthouse Trip went very well, The boat
was filled to capacity. The Project Oceanology people gave
an interesting talk as we toured the structure. I would recommend
the trip to anyone. I am including a photo of the lighthouse,
and the link once again: Project
O Lighthouse Cruise
While our group was touring the Lighthouse three of our chapter
members were competing in the Slocum River Regatta. Bill's
Last Chance came in first in its class, beating its
own record with Sean and Bill on the oars. John Maxson also
took first place in his "Faering" Dory. Here is
the link with the details: Slocum
River Regatta
I would also like to plan a fall foliage row for either the
12th or the 19th of October. I have wanted to row the Narrow
river in RI for quite awhile now, but I am open for any other
suggestions: Narrow
River Preservation Association
We have two dories in the shop ready for conversion to double/single
configurations, making them "convertibles" !! Hopefully
we can make some progress on them this Friday evening.
Hope to see you there.
